I have just currently finished and loved reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. And I’m reading a Russian classic - Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I haven't got a favourite classic book (as of yet) but does anyone have a favourite? Also anyone got some recommendations?
Pride and Prejudice all the way! <3 <3 <3 It is the ultimate love story: smart, funny, beautiful and timeless. Can't be beat.
I've never read it but have seen parts of it on tv (but not all the way through).
I love Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It's probably my favorite. I also really like the Anne of Green Gables series by L.M. Montgomery and The Amazing Interlude by Mary Roberts Rinehart.
How is Anna Karenina? I have it, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
In terms of classics, I'm more of a classic sci-fi and horror fan. H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and Frankenstein stand out, for all that they're a little shorter than I'm used to. I didn't have a lot of use for the Picture of Dorian Gray, though..
Thanks for the recommendation! I have never read any of Leo Tolstoy books before but I must say he's a brilliant story teller. I am really enjoying the book so far (Anna Karenina) but I'm trying to read it slowly but I must admit I haven't been able to put it down! You should read it.
