Hey Everyone, I thought I would try something different this month and see if anyone fancies doing a buddy read of Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi with me (the more the merrier). I am super excited to read Homegoing as I have only heard good things and it is the only book that has appeared in the Bookaxe best rated chart every week so far.
I have never done something like this before, so I am making it up as I go along but what I suggest we could do is start reading on Monday 12th March giving everyone time to either buy or borrow Homegoing. Then over the course of a week we can discuss our progress and thoughts at various points as we make our way through the book.
Just say hello below if you are interested in joining in or if you have any better ideas of how this should work!
I read Homegoing recently and really enjoyed it I am sure you will too! I look forward to following your progress.
I read this last month and it's brillant couldn't put it down it's one of my favourite books! You'll love it.
I would LOVE to do a buddy read! In my real world life noone really likes to read so I have turned to booktube which in turn has lead me to you guys. It will be great to read along with someone who also loves books. I just ordered my copy : )
Ooo!!! Naomi recommended Homegoing to me in another chat so I am keen to join in as long as I can get it from my library between now and next monday. :-)
I picked it up, so I'll give it a try. I've read the first few pages and I'm going to have to force myself to continue. It's just not grabbing me yet.
@Erin, @Frankie and @Mark it is awesome that you are all keen to give Homegoing a go. I haven't even opened the cover yet so I don't really know what to expect. Mark I think you are cheating getting a head start!
lol, I guess I missed the start date (or skimmed it), so I'll wait for Monday to pick it up again.
Morning all, I plan to start reading Homegoing this evening the version I have has 300 pgs so I will attempt to read 50 pages a night for the next 6 days and will probably post my thoughts the following morning about how it is going. I am really excited to see how our perspectives compare or diverge!
Ok, I just tabbed my book and will go with the same reading plan so we can all discuss!
