I'm done with fantasy and want some non-fiction/thriller/YA recommendations
How about contemporary? Little Fires Everywhere is good. Or how about supernatural with a funny bent? Christopher Moore is a good choice.
would definitely check them out thanks!
There is literally SO MUCH Young Adult, what genre do you like?
If you're really into non-fiction, pick up something on the S.O.E. particularly the F. Sections and the agents trained by Vera Atkins. It's my new recent obsession. I've read three so far: A Life in Secrets: The Story of Vera Atkins and the Lost Agents of the S.O.E. (my favourite), A Cool and Lonely Courage: The Story of Sister Spies in Occupied France (if you're looking for something on the lighter, literarily speaking, side), and Spymistress: The Life of Vera Atkins, the Greatest Female Secret Agent of WWII (this one focuses a lot on her early life and it rather dry and boring, though the war part in interesting, A Life in Secrets was better).
Also, have you read Jane, Unlimted? It's super cool. The basic concept is that Jane promised her aunt she would go to her friend's estate if she ever got the chance and when she gets there, strange things start happening (Servants with guns, smallpox, and art thefts). Then she gets a choice to follow five characters to get answers. Then the story stops being linear and it follows what would have happened if she'd gone with each character in a different genre. The genres are (in no particular order): SiFi, Horror, Spy, Fantasy, and Mystery.
Right now I'm reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and I love it. It's about how to live creatively and it's really interesting.
I also recommend Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination. It's a biography on Walt, and it's fascinating to read in detail about his life and the origins of the Walt Disney Corporation.
